Introducing Ms. Tay & Ms. Tan

An effort that responds to my maternal family's trauma, this work was a collaborative project between my mother and I, where I confronted the historical events that my grandmother and mother had endured through the process of authoring labels, and collecting and reproducing heirlooms and memorabilia. This project was conceived during my 2-month stay in London, serving as a commentary on the British Empire's colonial sins on Chinese and Singaporean communities, and their practice of looting.

An art book was made to compliment the "exhibition", serving as the "Curator's notes" of the project.
