“The Divine Feminine’s virtue is the foundation of the family’s harmony
The Example set by Female Comradery brings peace to the world”
This work reinterprets traditional Chinese perceptions of women and femininity by crafting new Chinese characters, symbolising the reclamation of identity and autonomy. The red line running through the characters evoke both the significance of women’s bloodlines and the bloodshed they endure under patriarchal systems. The juxtaposition of traditional forms with newly created symbols reflects a conscious rebirth—an assertion of female agency and resistance against historical erasure and oppression.
