Komorebi

This project was held in collaboration with a social worker whom I, along with 3 other fellow artists were assigned to from Assisi Hospice. Komorebi is our response to our worker, creating a piece that represents and resonates with her, focusing on finding hope amidst despair.

 

It showcases the journey of light from the lens of the torch to the hitting of the floor and walls, while passing through colourful acrylic sheets to cast vibrant and colourful reflections. This metaphorically symbolising the hardships encountered by one during their lifetime and the journey of overcoming them in an organic and hopeful manner.

Komorebi, invites the viewer to experience the beauty and wonder of rays of light dappling through overhead leaves, casting dancing light rays on the forest floor.
